Louvered Hood

So... I have the Steeda louvered hood. Would there be any way on making the cowl part functional to remove heat from the engine bay? Like maybe cutting out the part where the two little windshield washer fluid sprayers are or maybe drill some holes in that area? Or would you just recommend on leaving it alone? lol I was just wondering if you think that it would be possible or would it let too much water into the engine bay? I was thinking about doing it but I wanted to see what someone else thought to see if it was a good idea or not. Thanks in advance for any input.

If you cut the louvers out of the center section of the hood, eventually the hood will fold in half because there will not be enough support. He should not need to cut it for overheating. If he has an overheating issue then he has to find the problem in the engine and fix it.
To help with the unwanted heat ... motor or cooling system will help with that.

Let me know if I can help with anything further? Would you like me to put you in contact with a sales representative?

Best Regards,

TJ

So, with a louvered hood shouldn't you already have plenty of ventilation?

I'm not having an overheating problem. My car sits and idles for a few hours each day and I was just wanting to help the engine out a little bit, that's all. I did stop at a body shop last week and that is the exact same thing the guy told me there that it would fold in half. I just wanted to see what Steeda had to say about it. lol Thanks TJ

And Blue5ive, the hood isn't functional at all. Just for looks. http://www.steedafocus.com/parts/ste...louvered-hood/

Gotcha. Had never seen the Steeda hood so I thought the louvers were functional.

Na. lol It would be nice if they were but then again... water. And that wouldn't be good. That's why I was asking about the cowl part. But at least I didn't go ahead and do it and mess my hood up before asking someone.
