Adding seat bolsters

Has anyone added bolsters to our stock seats?

I've come to terms with the fact I won't find any SVT Recaros and I'm not willing to give up my PSS and side airbags for an aftermarket seat.

If you've added bolsters to the stock seats, how much did you add? Will the covers stretch enough to take quite a bit of extra padding?

My prior car Contour SVT i added thick rubber material around under the seat cushion edge as well as scooped out a shallow curve in the center of the foam seat itself..
Taking the seat cushion off the seat frame is easy. Getting it back on is only a little harder.
My solution to wanting more 'bucket' in my bucket seats worked great.
The rubber material i used was a huge 'o' ring from some gov surplus.
Most likely a rocker booster. i cut the 1 1/2 thick ring up and used it under the door side and front of my seat.
It stood up to it for over 12 years.. Til i sold the car.
My current Focus Sport seat is almost as good.. Stock.

ive been on the hunt for some decent seats but i want to retain the side airbags. i seem to attract drunk drivers.

i thought about getting a set of seats outta the new gen 3 st but those recaros were murder on longer trips.

i think i am going to go to an upholstery shop and get a quote for having some bolstering added. im what people call average build 5'10" 155 lbs 32" waist...i slide all over the place in the stock seats. i cant enjoy the corners as i have to brace by clamping down on the door or pressing off of the dead pedal

I would really love to get seats from a mk3, but I haven't seen anywhere if they would even work on a mk2. I know the base is different, but as far as the safety sensors and harnesses, I don't have the opportunity to try swapping a mk3 seat.

I'd LOVE to get a set of mk3 Titanium seats. They would look great in my car.

Seat mod

Anyone found the seat on the 2008-11 uncomfortable and changed the headrest/seat?
I added some 'stop points' on the headrest.

I can't say I do. I've driven my car almost every day since I got it in mid-2010, and they're by far one of the more comfortable seats I've sat in.

In my opinion, they're more comfortable then Miatas, late 80's Corvettes and Mustangs, WRXs, anything Honda, Hyundais, Nissans, and Mitsubishis. The best seats ever, are in the Audi A8 my best friends mother drives. They're heated, or cooled, and have built in massagers for your rump, lower and upper back, neck, and even the seat bolsters.
