I think it's when the wheel is turned (+40 degrees according to this site/manufacturer) not when the signal is on and traveling under 30(?)mph. Does the light in the innermost section appear to be angled? That would make a lot of sense then.

I kind of want to set something up that would be wired to the steering angle... and then buy a set of lights.

The ST3 HID have a cornering lamp feature that comes on when you turn the steering wheel or activate the turn signal stalk, only up to 20mph.

Turn signal control of the light might be possible to rig using a relay (a pair of them)... not as slick as the sensor on the steering, but it would give you some functionality nevertheless.

I'll take the old fashioned cornering lamps like my 93 SHO Taurus had on it. They were directly below the turn signal, clear lens, and when you activated the turn signal they came on and threw out a nice light pattern toward the side, where corners and curbs are, so you could see them as you were turning at night so you wouldn't curb check your wheels, hence the name cornering lamps. I can't really see how a light inboard to the low beam would light up a corner or curb to the outboard side of the car unless they have an extreme angle to them.

Zhadan1205 could you give us a link to the seller you got your headlights or similar? I will order one of this goodlooking lights but i want an easy plug n play option cause i dont have knowledge about electrics lol

Here in Spain if you install the ford DRL lights on the grill (offical lights) the parking lights have to be disable because is illegal to drive with 3 lights at the same time: DRL, low and larking light. So that light you talk have no use in US is definetly a cornering light.
