I used Alpines Digital processor and timed the speakers. It makes ALL the difference in the world. The Alpine processor had signal inverters in it to reverse polarity too. Again, all the difference. Happy listening.

Wow, incredibly clean install, much better than the generic box of 2 12s taking up most of the hatch area. I've bookmarked your "in progress" thread for the great workmanship.

Amp.... I was looking at the Morel speakers. Those crossovers look like the Elate series which is typically about $1500 per pair.

I thought the same, I considered the Elate in my recent build plan, and have settled on two sets of Focal K2 Power 130KR, and the Focal SB 25 Subwoofers. A question for you or Jeff would be this; do you guys like sending full range to your speakers crossovers or do your guys split it at the amp, then again at the speakers? Seems redundant. Use the speakers right, that's why they exist, then you make full use of your amps abilities as well.

IDK what he is going to end up doing, he did mention an active setup. It would be redundant to have passive crossovers in the same system as an electronic crossover. My HU has a fairly good crossover/DSP in it, so I'll be using that. I might purchase a component system, but that's only because there is a tremendous price difference between buying the speakers separately. The only way I can see combining the two would be if I were to have a 4 ch system. Then I would use the passive crossovers to split the components, active HPF on those, and then LPF the sub. Depending on the sub amp, someone might want to double up on the cross, but in my limited experience- it's usually pointless.

I know its late, but clean build man. I was debating doing a similar setup in my trunk (but with 1 sub on each side and both amps on the bottom, but I figured that I would just end up scratching the hell out of the plexi.

Looks good though, one of the cleanest setups Ive seen in a focus.

Passives eat up 10-15% of your amps output.
