Tail light variations?

Ok, so I've swapped in black (not dark chrome) headlight housings and painted my grill to match.... I cleaned the VHT night shades off my rear lights- the night shades was the previous owner's- but I needed my reflectors back because I do a lot of night photography on sides of roads. So... Now my rear housings don't match the front and it bugs me! The rear is dark chrome and the front is black. What variations of 08-11 tail lights were there? I know with the headlights they had chrome, dark chrome and black... Was there a oem black tail too? Anyone have a part number maybe?

I know I could take em apart and paint em, but I'm a bit worried about the longevity of the light housing after that, and worried about matching the front. Seems like the silicone to put em back together could soften up and fail in our florida heat.

Also- anyone have pictures of a tinted third tail? Either dark or red?

Thanks!

I did a couple of layers of nightshade on the chrome bits of the Eagle Eye tail lights and two light layers on the red bits. About a month ago I Red VHTed the third brake light.

^ yeah, that's how my tail lights were before. But they were kinda dull and the reflectors didnt reflect.... Do yours? I wonder if they didn't reflect because of the dullness and not the nightshades itself. I realized I had to remove it when I kept having to turn on my lights when I was shooting on a pitch dark road, I didn't want to risk getting smashed. ... How many coats did you use? Did you polish it after or anything?

The tinted third light looks good on both, I might have to that next.

Wow- so, the cars that came with the black headlights still had the dark chrome tails?

I saw some after market tail that were made to look like OEM, listed as "painted trim" they looked black- but really it's hard to tell if they are, or if they are dark chrome and the picture was just off. Not sure.
