I try not to drive around in the city too much anymore because I just sit in traffic all day and it kills my mpg. With about 60% highway and 40% sitting in heavy city traffic, I get about 30.8 mpg in a 2012 Focus SE Sedan.

Not that you'd be in park in traffic but I wish these trip car computers were set up to exclude idle in park from the avg mpg. Everyone knows you get 0 MPG when stopped so I hate that the computers skew the avg so much when in idle.

This past winter I was down to 21-22. Now that its warmed up, I'm seeing 26-28, at 75-80mph.

Just had my third tank over 500 miles today. This one was 509 miles at 43mpg but my longest tank was 530 miles.

Net average for 18000 miles is 37.9mpg.

I have an overall average of 6.3 L/100 km (37 mpg) after driving my 2013 Focus approximately 18,000 km (11,200 miles) since purchasing it a couple months ago. I use Trip 1 as my overall odometer while Trip 2 measures between fill-ups.

In order to get up to 43-44 mpg that I often get, I need to drive about 92 km/h (57 miles/hr) on a highway with posted limit of 100 km/h (62 miles/hr). This frustrates people so I typically avoid it.

To average 40 mpg, I need to drive about the speed limit on the highway.

To average 38 mpg, I can go 105-110 km/h (65-68 miles/hr).

To average 35-36 mpg, I can safely go 120 km/h (74 miles/hr) - ie. the norm.

Depends how cheap I feel too. It is definitely rewarding to drive 350 km per day and only pay $22 to fill-up my tank instead of the $30 I used to pay in my 2000 Focus that I retired.

I do about 88% highway, 12% city driving in a typical day/week/month.

With a little over 12,000 miles on the clock, my car has averaged 32.44 mpg in its lifetime. About 60% of those miles have been in the city in stop-and-go traffic (mostly my work commute), the remaining 40% are on the highway trips I occasionally take. On the last fill-up, the car did 30.36 mpg. This was entirely commuting to and from work, no out-of-city trips.

For the record, my daily commute is the equivalent of 70% traffic and 30% highway. I say equivalent because if it wasn't for the construction that has been ongoing for the past two years on the main highway I take to get into town, it would be the other way around. Alternate routes are even longer and slower.

Best I've ever gotten out of the car was 41.6 mpg. This was entirely highway, doing mostly 65MPH (occasionally touching 75 while passing) and with the cruise control almost the whole way on fairly hilly terrain.

Mileage could be a bit better if the manual box had a 6th gear.

Just got 35 mpg last week in my svt! Mostly highway but it was the first long trip after taking out of winter storage so I had to give it to her a couple times lol. Have gotten close to 40 a few times last summer.

The summer of 2010 when I had just gotten the car I got 38mpg on a trip to the beach doing 55-60mph the whole way. Since then, I haven't even come close to that. I didn't start recording my economy til 2011, so I have everything from then until now.

Only have 68- miles on my 13 s but so far i am averaging 35.8. Just 60 mile commute to work at 75-80 mph. Love the mileage! My fuel savings a month is half my payment.
