So even if the compression ratio is the same i can change the thickness of the gasket to thicker and lower compression ration i want to lower it not to turbo just to utilize nos.

You could, but I don't know why you would want to lower the compression ratio for NOS?

Then you need a built bottom end depending on how much you want to use. Also a good tune to go with it.

All i have now is a typhoon intake and straight pipe exhaust. My plan is to order lower mm and then obx header then get the sct programmer then eather stick with my head and get cams or get a 2.3 head and get cams. I am planning to eather way arp stud the head and add nos.. Just need tips on which way is better head wise with using nos instead of turbo.. I only want to put 25 to 50 shot of nos.?.?.?

I would skip the NOS and go with the 2.3 head and cams. You'll have more power (not more than a hit of NOS but it will be up there) and have it all the time.

A 25 or 50 shot is fine for the stock motor. Anything above a 75 shot would warrant a built bottom end. Quick question: why all the hunger for power, but you start with an automatic transmission? There are plenty here in the community with the ATX, but they usually fall more into the "show" category than the "go" category.

If your expectations are to get above about 170whp, I'd consider moving on to a different car.

A thinner head gasket will raise the compression, but just barely. There's nothing "bad" about using nitrous on a high compression motor, it will make more power per amount of nitrious used, but it will need to be monitored closer.

A 170whp on a duratec is way easier than trying to get there with a zetec. With a 2.3 head swap and cams it should be close if not there. With a Cossie intake manifold, tb, and intake should put you around 180-190hp.
