That's with the manual tranny, not the DCT, and there could be differences in spring rates or cooling system capacity that matter. But despite what the U.S. owner's manual says, I think it's safe to say the Focus is capable of towing more than zero lbs.

I feel like we get screwed here too. I had a '78 Olds Cutlass w/a 260 cu in V-8 and I towed all sorts of stuff with. I watched my dad haul and tow some crazy stuff with his little Chevy LUV truck. Both of those vehicles had way less power than my new Focus.

Given the information (and my feelings on what I should be able to do with my own car), I will most likely add a hitch..someday - but that will have to be AFTER the warranty has expired.
