2012 YBM Ti Sedan Exaust: Stock->Straight->Borla

Good evening ladies and gents;

Whether it was my 2009 Buell 1125R, my 2004 SRT-4, my 1998 CSVT, or my 2006 SV650, I have always enjoyed a sporty feel and sound when I hit the road-- and my '12 Ti sedan has been no exception. So I finally went down to Sure Stop Auto, a local exhaust fabricator in Brandon, FL, and had then straight-pipe the rear muffler, and middle resonator, which left only the bullet resonator in place; however, this was way too loud. I know, it is no surprise that a straight-piped vehicle is just obnoxious. That same day, I ordered a Borla Transverse dual-exit muffler, two nice tips, and a Magnaflow Magnapack resonator to quiet things down. Today everything came in, and I had the local shop install the tips and rear muffler only. Upon start-up, the car was next to silent. I was actually surprised at how quiet the single muffler made the exhaust. So I didn't have the magnapack installed, and instead gave it to my brother for his liberty CRD.

After everything is finished, I am very happy with the end-result. The car is quiet when driving normally, but I can hear it when I get onto it. The only thing I would change would be to have the tips pushed in further into the under-carriage-- but I am satisfied with the way it looks.

Here are pictures and videos of both the Straight-pipe, as well as the Borla dual-exit muffler, in chronological order:

Straight-Pipe:

Looks good and I like the sound! Agreed, would look a little more cleaner if the tips were pushed back again, but nice job!

Oh, and is that exhaust shop outside?

Thanks! The shop has outside lifts, as well as indoor lifts, but I chose to skip the wait for indoor and use the outdoor lift! It's sunny Florida, anyway!

Ha good old Florida! Would never see something like that up here in IL.

never understood having the way back of the exhaust cut across the back like that with the single exit.. seems like unnecessary turns and such. but the dual exit looks sick, much better!

Thanks for the compliment! I will be going back down to have the tips tucked back under the body, and an extra hanger welded to keep the driver's side tip supported!

Sounds nice! FYI, that little bullet resonator you left on is actually just an expansion chamber, there are no baffles or resonator type cores in it all.
