The USB ports could definitely be mounted there. A 12V socket is too big to fit into that area.

ha! i, too, wondered what the heck that thing was.

also, funny observation - when the auto tranny is in Park you can't put a card in or out of that without bending it. i guess if i was at a drive thru or tollbooth or something and the tranny was in Drive, i wouldn't care.

Pull the radio and then you can reach down behind it and pop it out. There are two tabs on it but I found that the slightest amount of pressure applied to the back side of it pops it right out.

i finally found a use for this! i keep one of the plugs/stirrers from Starbucks in there now :)

I wish this was switched with the 'Rear Defroster' button on the left side. That way I could pop the black piece off and use the slot as a cell phone holder.
