Yeah, factory Homelinks come wired as always on. In other forums where people have added them aftermarket though they brought up the point of making them key switch powered for security. Like I said though, I have always wired them as always on.

I'm looking at spending the extra bucks and buying the auto-dimming rear-view with Homelink. That way I get two features instead of just the one. For only $50-70 more than buying two matching visors... I think it might be worth the extra money.

Knowing that there's already accessory power up there to feed the current visor "make-up" light, I'm thinking you wouldn't necessarily need to run a new power feed for it either, so it shouldn't take much to install.

My question is that have any of you who did the Mod do it on a Job #2 car to confirm it worked and the harness is in there? I dont mind having a driver side Visor with 2 lights cause I'll never use it anyway but I will use the homelink button.
I ended up getting a 2012 Homelink visor before I picked up my new Titanium, not knowing about the Job #2 changes. For those that are still considering this, I can confirm that the connector is still there in the same place and plugs into the visor just fine. The screws underneath the single hinge cover are still the T-20 that roderunner posted above. The lights and door opener are fully working.

However, I wanted to note, the retention clip is of a slightly larger opening, so the visor is somewhat loose, but doesn't seem to rattle at this point. I also noted that the Job #2 visor is able to slide out on a rail, but the 2012 does not. With the change in the hinge cover, I didn't have the screw caps, but that doesn't bother me:

The minor difference in the design doesn't really stand out, especially since had to sit in the back seat to even get a picture with both of them:

Looking at the Tousley catalog, there are visors listed that indicate right side w/ homelink here. I don't see any part number listed, so you may want to call to verify. Odd the right-side visor is more expensive than the left...

My advice is, if you have a build 2 2013, don't do this mod, unless you *absolutely* have to have a built in garage door opener.

It doesn't look right and worst of all, it is to small for the visor clip.

I have reverted back to the OEM lighted visor.

Just my $0.02

So is there not a Homelink visor available for the 2013 Build 2?

I've considered installing homelink, however because I have a right hand drive focus I thought installing just the buttons would be a good option. My Focus doesn't have ambient lighting controls so I thought this would be a good option:

So if I have a 2013 Job 1 Ti with the lighted mirror, I just unscrew the visor, unplug it from the existing harness, plus the Homelink one into the same harness, and screw it in? Seems too simple. :)

Sometimes it really is that simple. In your case it is, it's literally a plug n play upgrade.
