Don't get me wrong, I hate to be disturbed by text messages, FB messages, etc. when I'm driving. I prefer to pay attention to the road when I'm in my car. Hell, I even yell at my girlfriend (Get Off your phone!)when she's on Facebook while she's driving and I'm in the passenger seat. Which she does all the time, I can't stand it.

I just don't like the fact that Ford doesn't even give me an option to hear my iphone notification sounds. I think it should be my choice whether I need to read that text message/Sports Score/Meeting reminder in my own car or not.

That's the point of sync reading the text to you. It's no more dangerous than you listen to talk radio...

More of an Apple issue than Ford. Your iPhone is playing all sounds over Bluetooth when connected... That's likely the phone's default behavior for BT. There may be a setting in your phone to force notification sounds to be played normally (over phone speaker) rather than BT... Maybe like unchecking the 'Use BT for media' option in BT settings for your SYNC pairing.

Really? Please don't, at least if you're driving in SE Michigan.

You mean here in Baton Rouge more so good god. I'm orginally from the Metro Detroit area, and it's a $hit show here when peoplpe drive

But back to the OP. I just updated my phone and never really ventured into the BT settings before this so this could have been pre-update too. But there is an option showing to "Show Notifications". Mine was set to default off, just swiped it to "on" so I guess I'll see later after work if this was the simple fix to hear them now haha.

CORRECTION: For all you GOODY-LITTLE-2-SHOES out there. Next time you're sitting in your car, safe and sound in your driveway, turn the car and leave it in park position, THEN start typing out a message. I don't condone texting and driving Ha.

But don't act like we haven't done it one or twice while we're driving com'on people. We're only human. [bootyshak <-- That's me mooning you. lol
