2013 Focus SE sub installl

New member here, jus recently leased a 2013 Focus SE black :)

I don't have the sync myford touchscreen, just the basic radio unit that comes standard. Has anyone tried installing a sub? Any recommendations on the wiring? I'm hoping theres inputs in the back of the radio unit and i dont have to splice into the speaker wires :-\

Might want to look in the Car Audio Forum

Links I have saved:
Yanner's 2012 stereo install
Mk3 official stereo wiring diagram
2012 focus titanium sound system installation project
Adding Subwoofers to a Titanium
2012 focus with sony upgrade retain stock headunit

Best way (from what I've read) to add a sub would be buying an LOC (Line output Converter )Audio Control LC2I for example, then whatever Sub and Amp combo you want.

Splicing wires will be easier.
There are a handful of us that have done it (as listed above), and cutting into the foam spare wheel surround provides a great place to hide everything. The amp and LOC can both fit there and then you just have the sub showing outside of it.

What type of set up do you want? For me I wanted to not sacrifice too much space, so I went with a 10" dvc polk sub. I planned out the enclosure, but it still seems a bit larger in car than I would have liked. If I were to do it again I think I would have gone 8", because even with a fully upgraded stereo (amp'd and replaced all speakers) the sub can easily overpower everything and get way louder than I need it to.
