2.0 Ring Gap

Using JE pistons/rings in brand new 2.0 n/a Zetec Blacktop. Have gapped the top and 2nd ring to 0.010 thou as was advised to do and oil rings to 0.015 thou. The question is, is 0.010 the right measurement? I though that the 2nd ring should be at least a few thou bigger?
Anybody gapped to 0.010 thou and any problems?
