All depends on the power level your going to reach. You'll probably be fine.

Long term update: Still love it and its working great!

Somewhat obnoxious if I'm stuck in stop and go traffic for more than an hour but its tolerable. I also don't use the clutch to up shift and only sometimes to downshift so that saves some wear on the left leg.

Basically everyone that drives the car stalls it the first time because it grabs low and it grabs fast. It's kind of amusing to watch :D

Do you have to get a new fly wheel for the exedy clutch to work?

The exedy system I bought came with a new (lighter) flywheel. You could order just a clutch though and re-use the stock flywheel BUT you'd HAVE to get it resurfaced or your brand new clutch will slip, get ruined and you'll be a sad panda. You also need a new pressure plate but most clutch kits come with that. Same theory as the flywheel, if you dont have a fresh new surface, your clutch will slip, and as previously stated, you'll be a sad panda.

It's the same theory as brakes, if you put new pads on gouged up rotors, only a fraction of the pad will actually make surface contact with the rotor due to the peaks and valleys on the rotor surface. With only a fraction of the pad touching you only get a fraction of the expected friction. In the case of brakes, they work like garbage, in the case of your clutch, it doesn't get 100% contact and it slips.

Thanks! That's all I needed to know, I ordered the lighter flywheel, I will be installing soon. Hope it goes good, I've never done anything like this before!
