I'm aware the ZL1 is faster around a road course, I actually worded my previous post to allow for that. If you compare the base and GT vs SS, both trims are faster and handle better than their Chevy rivals.

Muscle cars are fun, but not the paramount of cars. I had fun with them. Though I can't say I'm a Mustang fan boy. I'm just not as eager to ride the coat tails of magazine editors and Top Gear to arrive at opinions of how a live rear axle performs.

I'd be THRILLED if they released a diesel option for both Focus and Fiesta. Unfortunate the US market isn't interested. I think there's no hope for an RS Focus. The St, optioned, is already touching $30k, I can't imagine where the RS would price.

I'm baffled how so many people can make pronouncements about how much the US market is not interested in diesels since diesel sales are up so much lately with very few diesel models offered and of the ones offered most are very expensive ones. Maybe if you repeat it over and over like a mantra you can convince yourself of it.

Through the first six months of the year, Americans purchased 61,214 diesel-powered vehicles, not including heavy-duty diesel pickup trucks, according to a study by HybridCars.com and Baum and Associates. That figure represents a 27.5-percent improvement over the previous year.

Not counting HD trucks, .8 percent of vehicles sold in the States are diesel cars; including pickups brings that number up to three percent. Some of the best sales performances are being turned in by Audi, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen, with the A3 TDI accounting for almost 65 percent of all A3 sales.

Hybrid sales are also up, according to the report, increasing by 63.5 percent over 2011's levels, and, with a slew of new models coming in the next few years, clean vehicle sales aren't likely to slow down any time soon. It's great to see diesel sales up, but 61,000 units isn't terribly significant. I hope it's enough to motivate more diesel options for North America. I'm pretty interested in the Mazda CX-5 diesel rumors.

For all these people that say the RS has to have AWD, it has never had AWD. Plus none of you have driven an RS, so you really have no idea what it does or doesn't/

More RS info has been released at Carlisle, PA Ford Event. Ford has been listening to the requests for certain features on the RS and has been listening. So of the things I have not been able to comment on but as soon as I see some more press releases about it I will comment on it more. Yes I have been holding out, I have to on some things.
