Maybe that's why it has never happened to me. I haven't had the opportunity to drive mine in the rain for the 2.5 months I've owned it. Damn drought!

My car only was 1k miles and she's been great so far. That said I would encourage every American owner to file a case with the NHTSA. If they get enough complaints about a specific car they will open their own investigation. Obviously this particular situation could be quite dangerous!

Happened to me while pulling across a highway!!! I floored it and it just made noise and crept across the highway as I was panic revving like a madman. Tried to go to second and it was the same thing. got to the middle of the highway and shut the car off and restarted and it was fine. It felt like I had the clutch in barely sending any power to the wheels.

File a report ASAP. It may save somebody's life one day.

Well add me to the list. I was going down the freeway at 65mph with cruise off. Hit a cloverleaf to merge onto another freeway, down shifted into 3rd to accelerate onto the freeway..... and nothing.

Up shifted to 4th.... nothing.... doesn't matter what gear you go into, the car will not build speed.

Stomped on the gas, the revs didn't jump so the clutch is holding. Pulled off the freeway to get to a parking lot to check it out. Clutch engaged fine in first from a stop but once again, no throttle response.

In neutral the car has difficulty free revving.

Like others, turn car off and back on, problem goes away.

Car was built in early 2012 and has roughly 12k miles on it.

Hi amoosenamedhank,

I want to get your regional customer service manager involved by escalating your case. Send me a PM with your VIN, dealer, mileage, daytime phone number, and full name; I'll do the rest!

Crystal

The resolution would be to get rid of this drive by wire crap and go back to a standard cable.

Hi kemoe,
