How to disable MyKey in SE

A friend of mine just called and said that her sister bought a new SE. She was only given one key by the dealer and it is set as a MyKey and everything is restricted on the car. Apparently, disabling a MyKey on an SE is different than on a Titanium Focus. i could not help them, but could someone tell me how to disable a MyKey on an SE so I can let them know?
Thanks

You need the master key in order to be able to remove the my key restrictions on the second key at least according to the manual. Why weren't they given the two keys if it was a brand new car?

So disconnecting the battery won't take care of any restrictions?

Did she check the owners manual? My dealer started to put the key (it was in an envelope) in its pocket with other paper work.

Had a somewhat similar situation (given only one key, however it was the master) with my new SE. Strange there were restrictions placed on the key. That's usually something left to the customer.

Once she gets the master key from the dealer, she can make changes to the existing key restrictions via the display located behind the steering wheel. Controls for that display are on the left side of the steering wheel.

Wow, only one key for a new car? That's nuts. Got to go back to the dealer to get the other one.

Hi cjanderson629,

I just wanted to touch base and see how things are going with your friend and their key situation. They can also contact our Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673 for assistance.
