smart place for sub in the trunk?

hey guys, first off, i love my focus, just got it a couple months back. anyway i miss my sub and i am wondering if theres a way to get a sub in there without using too much space? i have a 10 inch rockfod P3. i was thinking of making a box and putting in on the side right behind the taillights because there is a little gap and some space there, though im not sure itd be enough space to have enough air for the sub to hit right. i also remembered that some focus's have a sub in the sidewall of the trunk beneath the carpet from the factory. i have an 09 SE, is it possible for me to put my sub directly on the metal (mine didnt have a sub from the factory) or is that just going to sound atrocious?

any ideas? i like my trunk space but want a sub back. or am i going to have to pick one or another?

You can fiberglass an enclosure on either side of the trunk.

Here is what i'm doing in my mk1.

it's going to sit behind the passenger taillight and run right up against the wheel well using a kappa 100.9w. Will be .75 cu ft (recommended size) I wanted to keep the driver side clear cause i fit snowboards in there and that's the side the big section of seats folds down. there was even more room over there. I can't imagine it's much different in a mk2. Only cost me about 50$ in materials. though you will need access to:
A saw, drill, and tape measure. I had plenty of scrap left over from 2 2x4 sheets of this so you could make it bigger as well.
