I like the in channel ones... lets you let fresh air in when it rains, you can leave the car parked with the windows cracked and not worry about someone breaking in (not that I'd do it in a bad part of town) and cut down on wind noise when you have the windows cracked. I would not get the stick on type, but that's just me. Does anyone even make slip in type for the Focus? I know Weathertech doesn't...

Stick-ons work are ok on aq truck but on a car where cleaner lines are important I'd go with in-channel.

^This x2. Here is what the out-of-channel looked like on my car. Not a fan, but they didn't have in channel when I bought mine-

They looked ok from far, but I didn't like them up close. Then one broke at the forward tab that slides behind the mirror and the side started peeling away from the trim so I just ripped them off. EGR makes in-channel in both clear and smoke.

I really liked having them so that I could leave the windows cracked in the warm weather to help let some of the hot interior air out. It gives you the peace of mind that if a random shower appeared out of nowhere that you didn't need to run out and roll up your windows. That, and with remote start I can just start it up for a couple of minutes before getting in and the interior would be much more comfortable after pushing some more of the warm air out.

Edit: Forgot to mention that they were surprisingly noisy when driving with the windows up. I don't know if the in-channel are much quieter, but I definitely knew mine were there when the windows were up and I was going down the highway...

They stick-on seem to blend better on a Focus since my mom has a set on her Mazda3 and they look awful. I'm going to talk her into a set of in-channel ones.

I also have stick ones (mine are made by AVS) and they appear similar to Duane's in that they're actually pretty slim looking and they almost look like in-channel until you get close - when you're looking at the car straight on, you can't see them.

Mine are the stick on and make zero noise. I like driving in the rain with the windows cracked a bit and like Duane said, in the 100 degree weather, I leave my windows cracked to let war air out without people seeing my window partly down. I worried about in channels, they seem to have good and bad reviews as far as falling out and people having seal issues and water running inside doors.

What options do the 2nd gen people have? I don't think there is an in-channel option for my 08' Coupe...

I have a 2011 focus. Installed in channel ones 6 months ago and haven't had a problem yet!
