Help me buy a clutch kit, please

Ok, well I have 150k on my car now, original owner, 2.3 engine and mods are CAI, cossie header and flex, cossie BSD, MBRP cat back, SCT tune, polly dogbone mount... I think that's all for engine stuff.

Lately I've noticed that my clutch has been slipping, sometimes under moderate throttle. I know my stock clutch is old and at the end of it's life. It was holding the power pretty good and I don't plan on doing any more serious mods, maybe stg 1 cams some day, but that's it. I can't justify spending the money for the exedy stg 1 kit and I like the idea of their OEM replacement as it comes with the same lightweight flywheel as the stg 1.

My question is, would the exedy OE replacement clutch hold my power or should I just suck it up and get the stage 1 kit? I know this topic has been on here before, but all I could find was people with stock cars wanting a replacement kit. Thanks!

Get the Exedy oem one. By the way the flywheels are different even thou they are both one piece. Thats what I'm going to replace mine w/ when I need a clutch. Don't forget to get a throw out bearing also.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the oe kit. Here is the one I'm looking at http://focus.c-f-m.com/exedyoequalit...3lduratec.aspx

It looks like it comes with bearings... unless that's a misleading picture. I'll probably be calling them tomorrow.

The reason why I said that the flywheels are the same, I'm sure you know more about them then me, is because looking at fswerks site, both the stage one kit and oe kit say that they come with 12.5lb flywheels. I could only assume that they are the same. But I'll be making calls tomorrow for more details on them both.

+1 rep!

Thanx. Wow, thats great that it comes w/ the throw bearing now, thats great. Google Exedy to see. Just to say, it'd be awesome if you had a torsen to throw onboard.

I dont know what slave the exedy clutch comes with, but if it is anything other than an OEM unit, trash it and buy an OEM unit.
