There are arguments about as to whether this does anything or not. Personally, I have not seen enough gains to justify spending the extra money. My stock ignition coil was cracked and not functioning right at 40,000 miles so I had replaced it with the MSD coil only because I got it cheap. I bought it and a set of Ford Racing wires for only $50 because the company I know was clearing out their inventory. I figured what the Hell, at that cheap, what is the most that I could lose. I have driven with it for about 35,000 miles and didn't really notice anything super about it. But then again, that's just my judgement call.

Yeah I've read about it to ,but I was thinking that a good coil pack it what 60-70 and new wires are 30-40 well for 90 why not get the performance ones. But he got them second hand so mute point.

My $15 Amazon clearance no name brand Chinese coil works just fine. Seriously, I expected it to crap out in a week, but a year later and still runs fine.

From what I've researched, just the coil and wires by themselves are going to give a minimal gain as the stock ignition control does not support the multi-spark capabilities of the hardware. Which is where the MSD ignition control box comes into play -- it allows the car to take full advantage of the technology and give that "bigger" multi-spark which will burn the fuel more efficiently and completely.

MSD Ignition Control Box

This one through Andy's is expensive -- I have seen them floating around on eBay for between $150-$300.

Msd coil pack by itself is no improvement over stock at all. Has actually been shown not to be as reliable for forced induction apps. For na should be ok and last fine. If not easy enough to change out.
