Anybody know if the projected one led bulb like the Cree would be more effective then the 4 led bulb the OP looked to have installed?

I have the projected ones (as backup lamps) in the hatch (no backup camera) and the 4 led in my sedan (with backup camera). The projector is much brighter, but narrow, and left the edges of my camera image dark, so I like the 4 led in the sedan.

Wife LOVES the projectors in the hatch.

Hope this helps.

actually, it does. I have a ten dollar amazon credit thing here, so I might buy a pair just for the hell of it. Who knows how long they'll last in a headlamp housing, but projected headlights are cool, so why not parking lights? For $5.00 it's worth a try.

Those crees are really bright...you might even get people flashing their lights at you! ... but I'm wondering if they'll fit in the headlight housing? They fit in the Backups but theres PLENTY of room. I just put new parking lights in, and it's tight inside there, hard to get them out and back in again.

Just a thought.

too late, as I ordered them already. I guess we'll see. If not, I guess I can find another use for them. I suppose updates are warranted on my behalf for this thread.

I'm interested in how it works for you, I might even order them for the hatch. Probably not for the sedan, because it has yellow PIAA parks to match the PIAA yellow fogs.

Ok, so I switched out my sidelights with these last night:

They are the focused beam type with smooth round metal sides that have no leds. First impressions: Holy crap! They're really bright... maybe too bright.

Will try to take pics tonight when it's darker.

Hi, well it does state on the pack 'Off-road or interior use only". Perhaps the * links to another statement on the pack? In the UK we aren't allowed to have anything on the front of the car that has a blue tint as our emergency services have blue lights. I think yellow would also be a MOT failure as well because that is a colour only for the indicators.

Yes, it says that Legal usage restrictions apply in some countries.

I checked my provincial Motor Vehicle Act before changing these and all it says for the side lights is that they must put out white light...

edit: Or amber light too.

Here's one I took yesterday with my phone (it was still light out) right after putting them in. They look dramatically brighter in person and at night, will try to get that in a photo later.
