Squeaking on new cars?

Hey everyone.

I was curious if it was normal for there to be squeaking in new cars? I'm hearing a squeak coming from somewhere in the front of my car. I can't tell if it is inside the dash or somewhere in the suspension. I almost think it isn't the suspension because it doesn't do it every time I hit a bump. Sometimes it comes after, like from the car shaking. I hear it a lot when slowing the car down to a stop also. It's a quick high pitch squeak sound. I can't hear it if I have the radio on, but is annoying if the radio is off. It didn't do this until recently (1700 miles on the car now). Is it normal for there to be some squeaks as the car breaks in, then possibly go away? I have an appointment scheduled on Thursday for the dealership to check it out, but we all know how that goes, so wanted your opinions.

On the plus side, my transmission doesn't make those weird sounds and works perfect. Now that the trans runs fine, I get this. Once this damn squeak is gone the car will be perfect, lol.

By the way...it isn't the same as the "jumping on a mattress" sound that had been discussed before. This is more like the sound of a cricket.

Theres a hump thread about this, and just seems to be vehicle specific for what it sounds like, or perceived. Get them to check it out and if they dont find anything, come back and read some more. I guy found what was causing sound of his car, but other have employed the same technique/fix with no success. GL, search for titanium strut noise (not titanium specific).

Well I finally got my car fixed. The mechanics finally found the problem (which took 2 days by the way) and there were some loose brackets from when they had worked on my car before. It created a couple differen't loud noises. Now it is fixed, car drives perfect, and I am finally happy.

More exemplary work from Ford's factory-certified technicians.

It's no wonder Ford doesn't really stand behind the work done by these guys.

At least you were able to get yours fixed. Dealership messed up my car back in October and I'm still trying to get the damage corrected.

Mine was making a buzzing sound from 2000 to 2100 rpm, i thought it was behind right side of the dash, so when i was installing my hood struts i looked around and found the nut holding the ac line bracket to the strut tower was loose. Noise is gone, happy, happy, happy
