I've owned other vehicles such as GM and I have significantly more issues with GM vehicles I've owned over all the Fords. Not necessarily huge like motor troubles. But all the little things, certain electrical accessories/options, water in the back, etc. it's like all their parts don't mesh well.

That perfectly describes my last GM.

This is my second Ford. The previous was a '96 Ranger. It treated me well. This one has as well. Next vehicle will most likely be a Ford also. Shooting for an F350. I've been a GM truck guy for the last decade plus, but sadly don't like the styling of the latest set of HD trucks from GM.

After my last week with a '13 Explorer, our next SUV will be an Acadia/Traverse though. More space, more power, and better visibility. 3 days in the Explorer made me glad to turn it in when the service department gave my Focus back. There was really very little I enjoyed about driving it. Shame, because I think it has the better exterior styling, and the nicer seats.

I don't brand whore any car but Indo like specific models of brands, IMO when you just stick with one brand some owners become ignorant to what's out there and miss out on some other cool cars. I like a few Ford models but some of their stuff has been downright ugly or not worth my time.

Rangers made me fall in love with ford, I would buy another ranger in a heartbeat. I plan to still own a powerstroke, '56 F100, mustang and shelby cobra before I die.

To me continued product quality/performance is more important than brand name. I was originally looking to buy a Subaru Impreza because it's previous generations of cars fit my tastes and preferences. Unfortunately, Subaru's current lineup is sub-par, and lacks the character that it's fan base seems to have loved. At the end of the day, something can have the same name on it and not be what it used to be.

I've been loyal to Ford for the last 15 years.. owning 3 pos mid 90's Taurus and now on my fourth Ford Focus(they all have been awesome little cars) When most major banks denied me credit with my less then prefect credit, FMC blew everyone out of the waters with a unbelievable rate on my new 2013 Focus SE...Thank you Ford, I'm forever loyal to you!

+1

I shop around and do all my research before I purchase anything. Whoever has the best tech and quality that fits what I budgeted for, that is what I go for. And Ford happened to be #1 on my list earlier this year

I do wonder if Ford loyalty will survive the DCT, MFT, generally disappointing fuel economy with the EcoBoost engines despite the added complexity and what's likely to happen to EcoBoost engines as they age with the casual maintenance they will receive.

Ford's loyalty was largely driven by reliability and durability: its current generation of cars may have neither. Guess time will tell, but for now Ford is off my list.
