just got mine. i got the ebay ones. man, they look awesome. you guys were right ....the original ones are a pain in the butt to get off. I used a microfiber rag and vise grips gentle but steady pressure is the name of the game.

I want to do this, I love the look of the ebay knobs, but I am too scared to risk having to go have my whole AC unit replaced like lumpthar. It's too bad, I love the looks of them.

Long as you're careful you should be fine.

Thanks for the link, I would much rather deal with Amazon then Ebay. Ordered them and can't wait to put them on.

I purchased the ones off of Amazon, they're the same ones from ebay, same box and everything that other posters earlier in the thread put up. (I'm the 1 reviewer on Amazon)

Took about 10 days to get here from China.

Like the others mentioned, use pliers and a rag to prevent marring the current ones (in case you want to go back for some reason... you won't... but you never know). Pull straight out, people having problems (snapping the posts, can't get them off, etc.) are likely pulling out and sideways at the same time without noticing it. Mine popped right off with fairly little force.

BTW, You'll need to put the vehicle in drive (for auto-trans) to get a good handle on the temperature knob. Don't try to do it without moving the shift lever or you'll be pulling at an angle (and thus more likely to snap the post).

Pop your new ones on and bask in the greatness that is your snazzy new A/C console look.

So, just messing around with my OEM knobs, I have kind of just pulled on them a little. My Fan control knob kind of pops out a little bit when I pull on it (kind of like something in there is either flexing or shifting.). It does't come out far, maybe 1/32" or 1/16", but it does shift while the other two are pretty firm with just a pull by hand. Did anyone else notice anything like this as they were removing the OEM knobs?

Yes... I observed the same exact thing on mine, just as you describe with the same exact knobs. Made me start second guessing pulling anymore.

However, I still tried with the pliers and they came off pretty easy. I actually tried pulling pretty hard on the other knobs with just my hand and couldn't get them to come off. So I imagined a bigger struggle with the pliers... but it didn't happen.
