Magnaflow muffler help!

I need some help. I'm going to cut off both mufflers on my 01 zx3 and weld a Magnaflow and run regular exhaust pipe though the tail pipe and a tip on the end but I no matter were I look I can't find the size of the stock piping I'm looking at muffler that is 14 inch ovle and 20inch over all length that's 2.25"piping will this be okay? Will it fit? Is the piping to big?

Thank but if it helps I'm going off the specs from the cat back system but I've read that it's 2" and others say 2. 25 but just for a example let's say it is 2"and I order the muffler at 2.25" will the extra room case any problems?

Having a bigger muffler than pipe size won't hurt at all. I just put a 2.5" glasspack on my Yellow focus and it fit slipped over the 2.25" magnaflow exhaust I have making the welding that much easier since it wasn't butt up against it. I went with a 2.5" one vs a 2.25" like my exhaust due to the inside of the 2.25" glasspack was actually smaller than the 2.25" opening, but the 2.5" one was 2.5"'s all the way through. So now I have a quieter exhaust with no restriction on flow with the addition.

Oh and the stock pipe is 1.78" or at least the flex pipe is that for sure and I think the rest of the piping is 2" -1.78"

Stock is 2" (about).

As a general rule, a 2.25" muffler will fit over 2.25" exhaust pipe. Pipe is measured Outside Diameter and mufflers are measured Inner Diameter.
You'll have to verify this per part though as some don't comply. Most 'universal' mufflers will though.
