Quick steeda cai install question

Hey guys i installed my steeda cai last night and it was getting late and idono if i was tired and missed something but there is a hose/tube coming up from the bottom which used to go into the stock housing and with the new housing it just blocks this hose/tube. They sent a plug/cap to seal off from the grille and nothing for the one beneath. I am new to modding and just wasnt quite sure if having this hose being blocked made much sense.

Haven't done any CAI installs on the Mk3 yet but I imagine that's the "snorkel" that routes air from the grill to the intake. If they gave you caps, just cap them. If they only gave you one, the cap is most likely for the CAI housing, not the grill, as capping the grill won't do anything but block air from coming in from that tube/opening.

Pictures would be better though if anyone is going to help out with more than guesses like my own.

I was informed by a steeda member that this is the resonator tube. Is there a forseeable problem in the future leaving this exposed?

doubtful, but don't quote me. the resonator just literally quiets the noise. many mk1 guys take them off, including myself, just to get a little louder throttle noise
