Ordered passenger engine Mount and transmission Mount, I'm getting tired of the extreme vibration at cold startups. Also I went ahead and fo5 the Haynes manual so I can consult that if there's anything I can't find a good writeup on.

Side note- Next expensive modification will probably be a tuner along with a tune, hopefully followed by an SVT header. Turbo is looking pretty distant and I'll hopefully get a newer Ford prior to doing that but we will see how that goes.

Any thoughts on this Edelbrock header? FSWerks has it on clearance for $150. How does it compare to SVT header?

Nothing really compares to the SVT header.. But this one probably won't need therest of the parts like SVT flex, cat, and tune. you will get some power out of it though

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking that before I change the header and exhaust, etc, that I'll get a time from FSWerks. What do you think about that? That way I don't have to worry about the EGR or cat

Definitely get a long tube header if you want to do a cat removal/get maximum hp/tq. I had a shorty + high flow cat and it dyno'd 5-7hp less than my FC race header.

Sweet, it goes on the list. I'm getting tired of my stock headlights. I can barely see anything at night and if it's raining I can't see anything at all. I'm thinking about getting the Morimoto kit from the retrofit source. Anyone have a better recommendation on lights? I'm also considering their more advanced kit that is $310. Or should I just get an ebay kit?

LOOOOONG post

Time for me to catch up on things I've done to the Focus. First I'll tell about the motor/transmission mounts. When I went over small hills or bumps there would be an awful knocking around noise. Finally I bit the bullet and bought both the passenger motor mount and the transmission mount. Glad that I finally did this because I have not had that noise since!

Here is the new tranny mount next to the old one. The old motor mount was missing the cap and when I removed it there was no pressure... I think all fluid may have drained out of it.

Secondly, I decided to save that $300+ I almost spent on retrofits (I still want them so badly) and just did a headlight restore. While I had it apart I went ahead and painted the inserts and I am happy with the new look. I may end up getting a different driver light anyway, it has moisture inside and it didn't turn out as well as the right side. Here are a few pics of how terrible it was.

BEFORE

AFTER

Just for fun here are a few pics. The grey GTi is my brothers. I got to drive it home from Texas when he got it and it definitely gave me the turbo bug. Someday I hope to get an SVT and I may build that engine but this Focus will remain just a driver. And that snow is from the first week of the season, the season being SPRING!

Those headlights look excellent!

Btw if you're going with a long tube header, i do NOT recommend ebay

Haha, thanks! And performance parts are usually best bought from NOT ebay. I'll wait for a good deal SVT set or not do it at all. I'd rather have the best than something that is just okay.

Good idea. I know of a cheap OBX long tube if you'd want me to get in contact with the owner. It'll change the exhaust note quite significantly, especially with the resonator "lunchbox" delete.
