fapping noise

what makes that fapping noise in the exhaust? happens around 2500rpms consistently. can only hear it from outside the car when accelerating, inside the cabin with the windows up i can't hear it.
i've been looking underneath my car, making sure its not a heatshield, those are all secured.

i have a CRM ORP, magnaflow exhaust catback, resonator and muffler. i did cut out my resonator when i had the cat still, then deleted the cat and it didn't sound good so i put another resonator back into it, so its all welded up shut. it didn't do that fapping noise when i first put that resonator back in once i put the CFM ORP in. it started probably around 4 months ago and my exhaust stuff was done 10 plus months ago. help

If I were to offer an educated guess, I'd say that one of the gaskets between your ORP, flex pipe and catback exhaust has given out. I had a similar problem. The "paper" gaskets with a protective, central metal O-ring tend to burn out eventually leaving a pinhole leak that progressively gets worse, Ford uses thin springy metal gaskets but they also tend to leak/fail over time particularly if you have after market exhaust components where the bits may not line up as precisely as stock leaving a bit of the gasket exposed to hot exhaust gases inside the pipe.

that makes sense, i'll try getting new gaskets and seeing if that makes a difference or not.

it seems like it may be coming from more the rear part of the car but is it possible the hole is more towards the front and then the sound just coming out the rear?

Your car is just happy to see you, and feel you inside him ...

This is normal teen behavior and will pass with coming of age.

Describe the definition of the word 'fapping', I'm quite sure most do not have a clue. I sure don't. Use of it probably killed response to your post.

but seriously though.... it could be a leak. it could also be a heat shield rattle since I'm not there to hear it...

You can have someone cover the exhaust with their foot or something else to block it off. This will make the leak more prominent if you have one.
