I had originally wanted to do exactly this. The problem is that there is not enough distance between the IC and TB for a proper MAF setup. The MAF sensor would be too close to the bend coming out of the IC and too close to the TB (Backwash). Since driveability is very important to me, I compromised and ran the pipe around the frame to get a long MAF tube.
