Is it possible to disable the FM receiver?

Every time I hang up a phone call sync switches from the AM station was I has on to the strongest FM station in the area. This is particularly infuriating because the strongest station near my house and work is a religious talk station.

Is there any way to disable the FM receiver or at least get it to switch to one of the presets?

I have the latest firmware and have done a master reset.

Any suggestions appreciated.

There is a TSB (12-10-15) that may address your problem. You might want to bring this to the attention of your dealer see if they concur.

ISSUE:
Some 2012 Focus vehicles equipped with a 2.0L Duratec engine and built on or before 3/5/2012 may experience an FM radio station change when cycling through other audio modes such as satellite radio or compact disc (CD). The original FM radio station will change to an unselected station when returning back to the FM mode.

ACTION:
Program the Audio Control Module (ACM) to the latest calibration...

In my area most AM stations are Spanish language stations but I did manage to find one English talk/news station. I listen to podcasts mostly but want the radio on the AM station because of the frequent traffic updates.

Thanks so much for the reply. It's a 2012 but I bought it in November '11 so it was built before 3/5/2012. I need to take it in for the wiper motor recall so I will have them look at it.

It's best to keep politics and religion out of this forum as some people can get very passionate.

It would have been sufficient to say that your tuner switches from AM to a random FM station.

Just for reference it doesn't go to the "strongest" station...it has no way of determining that. It just picks the station it somehow considers the default. All of them do it, but with different stations.

Oh, I assumed it was the strongest because it's well above the freq of the music station I listen to and it's very clear. I wouldn't really mind if it went to one of the preset stations but not the two it always picks.

Now, how do I find the TSB online? I didn't have much time today but Google didn't seem to know what I was talking about.

Update;
I got the TSB installed and it completely fixed the issue!

I can say that Sync or MFT or whatever it is I have is working great. No hangs, no reboots, connects to my iPhone 5 every time.

Wish list
A way to disable the "For your safety.." messages
Send text messages using the iPhone 5
A way to allow my kid to display his PSP on the screen when I'm driving

so exactly what occurs after the fix? Does MFT resume playing the last selected FM channel once you unplug the iphone?
