It does show something. The same thing the Ford catalog diagram shows, the Rock Auto catalog states and our observations reveal. That length of hose is what Ford in it's bureaucracy is calling PCV/hose or whatever. Car companies have strange nomenclature. There is a "ported orifice" on the engine as someone else mentioned. I doubt your engine is any different because it is a '13. Order one, follow & compare the one on your car. You seem to be over thinking this.

Thank you, I will do so. I remember the ported orifice comment but someone else said there was a valve at the breather. I will find out which when I have the time.

Okay. Went to the Local Ford Dealership and got this diagram.

The one labeled HS1 is a Oil Separator that bolts directly to a hole on the crankcase.
The piece labeled 6C324 connects from the Oil Separator to the intake manifold on the inside which would be a PITA to get to without taking out the intake manifold.

So installing a Oil Catch Can is gonna be a real PITA.

I would have installed my intake manifold by now but my engine is consuming oil so to avoid having to argue with warranty people I'm waiting for that to get fixed

First picture, the black oil separator has a purple/blue thing on it with a hose. Does that thing appear to be a PCV valve?

Did the hose connect to the intake like 'Craigsfocus' said?

So that is your new engine? Congrats on the swift replacement if not the total time w/problems. I hope it all works out good for you.

So...... How long until the manifold painting gets going

That's the old one. It was pulled Monday, I should have my car back next Tuesday. The intake is painted wrinkle black and smoothed but I'm not sure how I'll finish painting it. Maybe black base with the tops of the wrinkles orange.

Thanks for the pics! I am glad to see that my time wasn't a waste with bad info. I wonder how long it will take until the oil separator fills up. Then what will happen.
