I put an armrest in my 04SVT as I do a lot of cruising so I needed a place for arm. I'll post some pics of it later tonight.

I've always wanted an armrest for more storage space. Looking forward to pics.

Since I put in the armrest I haven't had any issues with shifting into any gear and it makes driving that much more comfortable.

As for adjusting the seat back it's a bit harder but not impossible. Although once your seat is set and as long as you're the only driver you won't be using the back adjustment that much.

The armrest doesn't have a lot of storage space but for the little bit it does have it's really convenient, I usually keep some coupons, my Bluetooth headset and my aux cable when I'm not using them in it.

What's the console out of? And do you have any trouble with knobs hitting the console when you pull the backs forward? Thanks for the pics.

The console is out of a 2005 Focus that I found at the scrap yard and I have no issues with the knobs hitting anything when I slide my seat.

When I had mine, I never thought twice about having an armrest... I agree with those who said it wasn't put there for a reason. However, I do understand the idea of wanting one.
Even still, Looking back, still wouldn't put one there. Everyone I knew with a ZX3 used to tilt them up and out of the way.

Put one in mine loved it for highway driving only problem was adjusting the seat back as it gets in the way of the knob you have to move the seat to adjust it
