You were just looking for another reason to not like the car.

I do like the idea of the aluminum skid plate for durability, but the o.e. design had its reason and its purpose.
Well its my car & my opinion so...........who cares what you says.

Are these still available? What would order time look like? Interested in getting one for sure if shipping wasn't a killer.

Somewhat off topic, but I didn't want to start a new thread just yet, and I figured Chaos would have some good input on this.

I have been pondering some sort of under-body plate for the MK3 that would cover the exhaust tunnel, and add some more under-body aero to the car. This could be paired with the skid plate and rear diffuser to both protect the belly of the car, and most likely aid further in MPG's.

I think you could add "heat extraction" vents on the exhaust tunnel cover to keep air flowing in the tunnel and avoid any... mishaps. This would also, I assume, help stiffen the otherwise flat sheet of metal.

Here's a crappy pic I took of the belly on my way back from lunch today just to give you an idea

That would be a good idea. Some people would not want it do to not being able to wash under it to keep the debris out (possible fire). I don't think there would be a big market for them.
