We actually did all the above, and it was still quite difficult. I think it was a mixture of the slightly below 50 temperature, winter road grime, and inexperience. Definitely a "spring" job.

If you had the choice to do it over again would you have gone with the steeds springs & bars? I'm contemplating this same kit really hard. I do know the ride in my focus is rougher now than when I bought it but I accredit that to the factory continentals having 42k miles on them and 4/32 tread left.

That is a hard call, I have not driven a focus with Steeds. I would suggest you get a set of struts and shocks before you take on the swap. DONT USE STOCK
the foci will handle much better w/ sways and springs. I really need to get off my butt and post pics showing how the car stands with stock 17s. I have no wheel gap and have never rubbed.

Compression rate on the stock strut is not set up for handling the rough Cali roads.

Rebound is ok ... but you will have a little NOT BAD bounce after mild bumps

The sways ... make a big difference in roll. Very noticeable when cornering hard on rough surface. The foci likes to rail corners

The big question is are you going to self install ?

you will need METRIC sockets, wrenches, Allen keys .. big cheater bar.

Since your back east soak the bolts the night before "liquid wrench"
