K-04 turbo in a SVT?

Anyone ever built up a SVT with a K-04 turbo? I initially abandoned plans for a turbo or blown build due to cost, but I have access to a K-04 for essentially free...making the whole process much cheaper if it could work.

there is ALOT more to a turbo build than just the turbo. the k04 is made by borg warner and they are a darn good turbo manufacturer but the k04 is a very cheap turbo from them (only $300-$500 new) if your power goals are only 250-300whp then it might get you there but you are still going to have probably 2 grand or more in it before tuning which is going to be at least another $500

yes no newer car is just slapping a turbo in and having fun. theres a lot of factors to factor in. such as fuel pressure engine internals and such and such and such

After owning a mazdqspeed 6 a can confirm they are cheap turbos. However if its new it would be fine with a focus. But as others have said, if the cost of the turbo was holding you back, you probably don't realize how expensive everything else is

Nope, well aware that the cost was going to be in the $2500-$3500 range.

Just wondering if anyone had tried it, had fitment/tuning issues etc...

The K04 I have access to is essentially new, so it's pretty tempting.

if I were you id rather much get a 600 dollar brand new precision turbo
