Once you do bolt-ons and tune, add in a short throw and rear motor mount, lower it, etc. the car becomes really fun. The response is really nice, even at 135whp. It is noticeable over stock for sure. Loved my car at that power level

Oh and here's a list:

Used CAI/SRI (forums): 100
OBX Header: 250 shipped on ebay
Catback (Trubendz or something similar): 350 shipped
Tuner (FSW or Tom): 400ish
dogbone inserts (ebay): 30
steeda short throw (ebay): 120 shipped

$1250 all in all. you can probably do better if you scout for used stuff on here and FJ.

I know right? And its a stainless copy of the Cosworth. Great header, I had one of the first ones OBX made back in 2008

Prices for simple bolt-ons for the 3.7 mustang make me want to puke. People pay how much for axlebacks? lol

Pretty bad, huh. ^^^^^^^^ All that for a different tone. It is a great motor thou. Beats the 40 all to hell.

The 2005+ aftermarket Mustang prices are vomit-inspiring. $650 for mufflers that don't sound like farts. $650+ for headers that are a miserable install?

I don't know man. I'm really tempted to jump ship and find another Focus.

The 3.7 is glorious. It sounds fantastic stock, it revs effortlessly, it pulls progressively harder all the way to redline. It's just fantastic. And cheap.

I just got the Steeda put in today. The improved throttle response and the sound are so much better now.

I still miss the good old days before electronic throttle bodies but I must say the improved response does seem to take away some of that disconnect.

Powerstrokes are fly by wire.

DIY Short Throw is $5 if you want to save a few more bucks!
