The key pad looks so aftermarket. Too much plastic/rubber around the keys - it really sticks out like a sore thumb.

It would have been nice if Ford built it into the car like other models. Oh well.

I got two keys+fobs with my '13, but wanted a third so if I lost it or anything I could still do the programming and such with the original two available. I ordered this off ebay, programmed it myself, and had the dealer cut it for me (did it for free).

Way less than the standard key the dealer offered, and now I have a nice compact key+fob.

We have a local Lock Smith that will cut the key for $15.

There was a post a while back from someone who mounted theirs inside their gas door. No eyesore whatsoever.

I didn't think mine looked bad at all. Of course, I can't see in the "angstrom unit" range about which car is lower like many on this forum, either. If the looks are an issue, in the gas door. I'd rather be permanently exempt from lockout difficulties.

When folded, how does this compare to the Integrated Keyhead units in terms of size and weight?
Does it seem like the flip mechanism will last?

It's only slightly heavier, same thickness as the center of the OEM one. Blade has a little play in the flip mechanism, but no more that any stock flip key, such as the Ford fusion ones. I'm pretty sure it's a Mazda or similar device with a new blade and compatible remote internals. Getting it cut today, already programmed the remote. Has equal, if not longer range.
