Front Knuckle issue MK1

Hey, so I have an '04 SE Sedan with a Zetec 5 speed. The previous owner had tried doing front brakes himself and stripped the threads in the knuckle that holds the caliper on. I was curious as to if I could either upgrade my knuckles to the SVT knuckles with the MK1.5 front calipers or if I could upgrade to the MK1.5 knuckles and calipers. If someone could please help, that would be awesome!

Upgrading to SVT brakes is a common modification and requires the use of SVT knuckles, calipers and rotors (and larger diameter wheels - 16" minimum, iirc - to give caliper clearance).

If you are to use the 05+ knuckles you will also have to upgrade to the same model year lower control arm as well.

Well I have calipers off of the 05-07 but a buddy has knuckles off an SVT so I was hoping I could just upgrade my knuckles to the SVT and then run the calipers from the 05-07 for now until I can get new wheels and the SVT brake kit later on down the road...

I think you could but you would need the rotor for the smaller brakes of the 05-07. There is a sticky on it somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.

So, what I'm picking up from that, I can upgrade the knuckle (assuming that's what you mean by spindle) to the SVT set and since the MK1.5 calipers are a direct bolt on to the SVT parts, only I would have to get the coresponding rotors? Sorry it's getting complicated, I just really don't want to keep the 00-04 parts if I'm having to replace one.

That's what I'm thinking as well or what it seems like. I was going to do this swap as well but go with the 05+ parts and upgrade my lower control arm to fit them since the SVT stuff is getting hard to find.

If I didn't have the hookup for the SVT parts, I would have ended up doing the same thing as well.
