location - Zetec CHT sensor

i have 2000 zetec need to change the cylinder head temp sensor does anyone know where its located

Changed thread title to help OP. I believe it's in the center of the valve cover, but I'm not sure about that since I don't have a Zetec engine.

Back of the engine, passenger side, by the alternator.
The center-of-the-valve-cover location is for overseas 1.6 or 1.8 Zetec engines, I believe.

Behind the alternator, you have to take it off to get to it, even then it's still kinda of hard to get too. Easy way is take the intake manifold off, but that's even more work. It's right under the #1 cylinder intake runner, screwed into the head with a pigtail coming off it to the connector. You'll see once that alternator is out the way. GL

It's in the engine at the end of that cable with the tape on it. It isn't the easiest to get to.

My hi speed cooling fans were not comming on
Only my low speed would work with ac or defrost
I unpluged the head temp sensor wala the high speed fans came on
My guess is bad sensor? Going in the morning to get a new one
Got to be the prob?

I think I do. Hts unpluged & the high speed fans come on & they wouldn't if pluged in
So I'm going to get a new 1 this morning & put it in a7 cross my fingers.....got to be it rite?
