Changed thread title to help OP. I believe it's in the center of the valve cover, but I'm not sure about that since I don't have a Zetec engine.

Back of the engine, passenger side, by the alternator.
The center-of-the-valve-cover location is for overseas 1.6 or 1.8 Zetec engines, I believe.

Behind the alternator, you have to take it off to get to it, even then it's still kinda of hard to get too. Easy way is take the intake manifold off, but that's even more work. It's right under the #1 cylinder intake runner, screwed into the head with a pigtail coming off it to the connector. You'll see once that alternator is out the way. GL

Would that be a reason for the radiator fans not turning on?

Not likely, only if your temp gauge never moves off cold....

One sensor for engine temp.

here is a picture of it.

It's in the engine at the end of that cable with the tape on it. It isn't the easiest to get to.

My hi speed cooling fans were not comming on
Only my low speed would work with ac or defrost
I unpluged the head temp sensor wala the high speed fans came on
My guess is bad sensor? Going in the morning to get a new one
