I know right.. I know cars and trucks though and won't fall for that crap as many of you wouldn't. But many people have no idea and go in and just think that is what stuff like that costs and they pay it. Idiots...... No offense to the one guy that posted on the second gen thread about this but someone on here went to a Ford dealer and got a quote on changing out his license plate light bulb because it was burned out..... Seriously man? It takes less than a minute!

i had been quoted the same. i couldve had it done in just over an hour except for that last control arm bolt, and i didnt have jack squat for tools. just some basic sockets and a floor jack.

this is what was left of the bushing that gave out

new control arm

even with the added cost of a control arm ($147), a camber bolt ($17) and a control arm bolt($10), and all the hassle i came out way ahead of having the dealer do it. well worth the trouble.

went to the dealer after getting it all put back together for a 4 wheel alignment ($89). it was a little out, but was correctable. bounce tested it for any squeaks or rattles and found out the front wheel liner was interfering with the strut so we had to trim a little away to clearance the strut.

i am a little nervous that i assembled the front struts wrong. there was no instructions on how to assemble them. i may or may not have put the bearing in upside down. everything looks right and everything seated together (the ridges seated into the recesses/cups without having to be forced. and i know i put the bump stops in upside down but that wont effect anything

That is wayyy over priced because that is just the springs not the shocks and struts.

So you are heading to Tousley tomorrow with that coupon to get the lowering kit, for well, cost? SVT pricing is 10% over cost, so that should make them cost... Right? I can head up tomorow too if that is the case-

Have a link to that? I want to use it too!

Just called them and they said they have em in stock but with tax it came to ~$330, I don't think that figures in the 10% but the guy said it does. He was kinda a dick.

I feel like everyone else said they got theirs for $308, can anyone verify that?

Total for everything ended up being $308 on the nose then with tax it was $329.94.

I did not see 10% taken off anywhere on the receipt so I guess they don't accept their own coupon or this isn't considered a retail part? Like I said, the guy on the phone didn't feel the need to explain any of this so I feel like I didn't get what I asked for. I emailed Steve Powell: Motorsports / FRPP Specialist to verify prices and once he does I will call the parts department to see what they say when I have a little more information. I don't want to call them and start accusing them of cheating me out of a discount they offered when it turns out I am the one that is wrong. More to come....
