^^^ no you wouldn't GAIN that much,the 130-135 would be TOTAL HP. You would need more then bolt ons and tune to get 130 more hp.

135hp to the wheels would be a nice and noticeable increase. Adding sts (if you have a manual,) stiffer lower engige/dog bone mount and a sportier suspension and you will have a new love/appreciation of your car, and a smile on your face.

that doesnt make sence my care is rated at 140 hp and with upgrades it goes down? im confused lol

The engine is rated at 140hp from the factory

The actual power at the wheels after drivetrain loss can range from 110-120hp in stock trim. You start adding parts and you can gain hp in small increments up to around 135whp for a manual with bolt-ons and tuning. If you want more power than that you're gonna need to go turbo or N2O.

135whp translates to approx 160hp at the flywheel.

ok that makes more sense now like i said i am not so good in auto parts. another question i have though is this even worth dropping the cash into? so i would only gain like 20 -25 hp? doesnt seem worth 1800 or am i just under estamating the changes?

It's all up to you and what you're willing to live with. If you want to push that much power you'll have to deal with the noise and vibration from having a race header and free flowing exhaust.

My plan is to get a Steeda short-ram intake and have Tom do a custom tune for me and call it a day. It'll be good for extra power but it'll be much easier to live with than going all-out.

noise wont bother me at all i got 2 15" subs as well so yea lol but yea i am just concerned i want at least 150 hp out of it without having to go pricy but i think i might be shooting for the starrs without a turbo. in your opinion is 1800 worth that extra 20-25 hp gain? i just dont want to use this money and not notice a gain

I'll be honest, it's a Focus not a Lambo. Our cars are pretty lightweight so 20 whp will make a noticeable difference, but if its maximum speed you're after, you'd be better off selling your car and putting that 1800 down on a used sports car.
