Another undocumented feature

I plug my 5yo daughters iPod Touch into the auxiliary power using a usb adapter and it wipes out my FM reception. Does this on both front and back power source. Anybody else seen this? Is it my cheap adapter causing it? Or just another undocumented feature.

If I understood your question correctly, you are charging the ipod via the powerports using a usb adapter and your radio cuts out...

I my self use the front one to power my GPS and the back one to charge my phone, have never had any strange issues.

Is the ipod connected to the audio (via bluetooth) ?

No, but bluetooth may not have been turned off on her iPod. I'll check that. Thanks.

There's 2 ways to connect an iPod/iPhone. You can use bluetooth strickly and have your music stream wireless. Or you can plug your device in and have it play via the USB cable (no bluetooth).

When i plug my phone in it will change the audio source to USB and give you the "use hands free blah blah blah" warning.

When you say cut your radio out, does it mean it switches sources (in that case it's normal) or do you mean that it actual cuts the signal, as in even if you switch out of USB to FM it doesnt work.

It's not plugged into the car's USB, I'm using an adapter and plugging into the "cigarette lighter"(for us older folks).

Let me guess, you paid about $5 or less for the 12v USB adaper? A lot of these cheap (made in China or Sri Lanka, etc.) electronic devices don't use quality components or filters, so, you're seeing the result of that.... I noticed it with my wife's cheapo micro usb car charger she got for her Galaxy Note.. it make wierd noises in the cars speakers everytime I touched it.... my Blackberry one (also micro USB) never did that... hers was $8, mine was $19.99....
