Pros and Cons of SCT X3 Flash Programmer

Hey FFs,

Building a "sleeper" one mod at a time...

I have $500 saved up to spend on my 01 ZX3. After some deliberation, I'm thinking about starting with an SCT X3 programmer and tune from FS Werks here in SoCal. Before I spend my hard-earned money on this, I'd like to hear about the TRUE pros (better performance/increased gas mileage) and cons (increased wear and tear on engine and components, uneven idle, passing smog, etc.). Anyone have real-world experience with this tune you can share? Anyone strongly suggest doing exhaust/header/TB first?

What should I expect from this mod?

Also, what is the difference between this programmer and the "Pro Racer" package. There's one for $395 (same as above) and one for $795.

Thanks as always

better to have the xcal now and THEN get the mods so you can tune the engine properly to respond accordingly

Xcal?

Sorry, ima newbie, is Xcal the tuner? Another guy on here said to get the mods (exhaust, etc. first so I could get the tune to adjust for the resulting changes. Are you saying tune first? Supposedly FS WERKS offers free
tuning with purchase of there "ECU flash thing" ;-) so
why not tune first then adjust after getting
Exhaust?

As far as I know I am the only Focus tuner offering free tune updates as you add more NA mods , my compition charges for all tune updates and from what I am hearing its very costly
I know you asked about fs but I would like to throw my hat in the pot for your tuning , I offer free tune updates , a dataloggin service where I tke over your laptop set up the datalog list , save it for you and do the first datalog like I was sitting in the car with you , this is customer service like no other tuner offers and I do full custom tunes where we datalog and get you the best and safest tune your money can buy

Please let me know if I can help
