Removing Steering Wheel Bezel

Anyone has any idea how to remove a silver bezel on the steering wheel (actually, on an airbag part) on the titanium trim ? I think of hydrodipping to it, but I'm not sure if it possible I don't want to mess up on anything, especially on the airbag one?

Its part of the airbag assembly, I'm not sure if its removable separately. When people have had issues with the metallic finish flaking off and leaving sharp edges Ford has had to replace the entire airbag module.

Who needs to read again? The instructions provided in the other thread are to remove the airbag itself which contains this piece of trim.

It is attached to the module and does not look user serviceable.

If it were removable without damaging the airbag they would only replace this piece and not the entire assembly.

Therefore it is not a removable item. You could take the entire air bag out of the car, mask off everything except the trim piece and then paint it. Otherwise it is not going to work.

No one has tried. I gave a starting point. There is a good chance the piece is melted in place like the outer gauge surrounds. If I was going to paint I would remove the assembly from the car rather than masking whole interior

When I said to mask off the rest of the part I mean the remainder of the airbag assembly when removed from the car, not masking off the entire interior and doing it with the airbag in place, just incase that wasn't clear.
