steering wheel

Anyone have a leather stering wheel they would be willing to part ways with after swapping out for the ST steering wheel? If not Im probably going to order the wheel skins set up and just wrap my own wheel.

Agreed. I went for a test drive and it had the cheap wheel....feel horrible. Test drove another with the leather, and huge improvement.

Can't believe the ST wheel is that cheap...

Quick question, how come on your wheel both sides have that circular panel with "OK" in the middle. On mine, the left side has the "OK" panel but the right side has an "M" with audio controls... Is it because of MFT?

From the catalog. Sorry about the loss of color. If you could pop it loose it would make a great matching vinyl piece!

Damn, I need to do this. The wheel in my wife's SE is sharp from poor trimming on the plastic and feels like shit in my hands compared to my HHR SS' Leather wheel.

Got my wheel today. It is SO much more substantial than the plastic one. Cannot wait to install it.

Yea, first "mod" I did to my SE was taking my leatherman micra, which is scalpel sharp, and trimming all the sharp flashing off the wheel. It's a poor reflection on Ford that the wheel has sharp flashing all over it. If the car wasn't $2500 cheaper than the hyundai elantra we were looking at, I wouldn't have bought it instead, the hyundai was a much nicer drive but I suppose there is a reason the Ford is so much cheaper.

With a steady hand and a small sharp blade you can greatly improve the stock plastic wheel. Next step will be a good leather cover. $150 is too much.
