Could you possibly be any more condescending with your comments on this subject?

People who don't do as you would are foolish children?

Stupid kids... they should follow the sage advice of their wise and all-knowing Uncle Arco-Zakus. LOL

Apparently this site replaces your cuss word with 5 smiley faces no matter how long, or offensive, your cuss word was. Wierd.

I haven't seriously looked into the depreciation, but must admit that when I was on my dealer's lot yesterday looking at a new '13 Titanium, that I was taken aback when I spotted a used '12 Titanium with a sticker of $18,300 on it. This is with leather, SYNC, backup camera, premium Sony audio, and 16,000 miles on it.

What are these cars going to be selling for in a couple of years, when so many hit the market off of leases and from rental agencies?

About the same as the current 12s vs 13s now when the 13s start coming off lease.

There are already used 2012 fleet/ rental cars, but they haven't completely depressed the pricing either, as they are trying to get more money for the cars.

I continue to be concerned with the depreciation on the new Focus. I spotted a 2012 Focus SEL today for $13,995. I think it had a fair number of miles on it, around 25,000. But my oh my, that's a lot of depreciation in one year. Makes me wonder what the seller got on trade-in, around $12,500???

Depreciation isn't linear. Cars depreciate the most at the beginning. it's not like your car will be worth $5k next year.

Well, I know that. But dropping around 40% or more in one year is really bad.
