Hi all,
I am from Puerto Rico and I purchase a Focus 2013 sedan SE. My question is that I want to upgrade and replace the intake and exhaust of my car but i don't wan to reduce the fuel efficiency. Is this possible or not, I am thinking in purchase throw Ford Racing to avoid problems with the guarantee. Let me know if this is possible or what you all recommended. Thanks for the help |

Any intake will reduce MPG's because the whole point is to feed more air which needs more gast to combust. as for the exhaust, you shouldent see any big MPG drop since it is the byproduct of the combustion. Go with FSWERKS for an exhaust.

To my knowledge, Ford Racing parts (like the exhaust) don't necessarily mean they're 100% warranty friendly. In any case, for any warranty claim to be denied in the US, they have to prove that it was the modification that caused the problem.
Anyhow, I run an intake and an exhaust, I get about 2mpg more around town than I did before. Your mileage may vary, as the cliche goes.

I think intake and exhaust is more of a vanity thing until you get the tuner to go with them. I have both on my truck, but I have a chip. That's just my own instinct on it. I think fuel economy is just placebo effect and/or rationalization for bolting on cool accessories. If it really worked, why wouldn't the car companies jump on exhaust and intake as a way to get better CAFE numbers?
