Interior Lighting

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question or not. Its an interior question, but not really a mod.

I just picked up a '12 SEL last week. Loving the car much more than I thought I would.
My wife noticed the LED's when you turn the car off and thought they were really neat. She pointed out that they were all blue, but the one that shines on the drivers side handle was red. I really didnt think anything of it until I took a new guy from my work out to lunch and he said that he use to work for a car rental place an how much he really liked the focus. He meantioned the LED's and how to change the colors, and when I said mine had two different colors he said he had never heard of that.

So now Im wondering is there something wrong and they should all be the same color? Or is there some way to change the LED's to make them show different colors?

I did mess with the LED's when I was driving last night and while the ignition was on got them all to change to green (and when I did change them to various colors they all changed not just one), but when I turned the car off it went back to all blue except the drivers side handle.

Now its just got me curious...lol

Sounds like the door thinks it is open, as when the door is ajar it lights up red. Two questions. one, do you know if the LED in the bottom of the door also lights up read (in the cargo...thing). Two, does your display say anything about the door being ajar?

If not, a trip to the dealer might be needed. Good luck.

Haha it's all good man that is what we are all here for to help!! I just had a big run around with my Ambient Lighting so I feel I'm a pro with it all now after a few trips to my dealer with my issues...

LOL I bought my car without even knowing it had that type of lighting. :P

same here. I traded in my old dodge ram that only had the cd player, ac, and cruise control options. When I bought that truck my wife said she didnt even know you could buy cars with windows that rolled up and down with a crank handle anymore.

So when I bought the Focus it was actually just the one that had the best price for the mileage, and I didnt even look at the options. Obviously neather did the dealership because the sales guy didnt know it had sync, and I just found out by reading the posts here that it has the higher end sound system. I think I have every option accept a sunroof, leather seats, and navigation.
My sales guy thought the focus was an SE until the day I went to pick it up

I am actually wanting to increase the brightness of my ambient lighting. Is this what you had done?

No no, the lighting control module was going a fritz some which made the ambient lighting not function properly. So they just replaced this and it made things normal again. The lighting is bright enough for me that being said I have a gen1 we will call it mk3 titanium focus, don't know if it's different across the board for the other trim/model('13) year. But I feel with all the lights everywhere in my car, I seemingly turn it down a touch because it's too bright. And no I'm not old (only 26!) so it's not annoying haha just too bright sometimes with certain colors!
